VerifyPage, Inc. ("VerifyPage", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website or use our services and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
1. Information we collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of our services:
- Account information. Name, email address, company, role, and password when you create an account.
- Billing information. Payment card details (processed by our payment provider, Stripe), billing address, and tax identifiers.
- Customer content. Documents, files, comments, and other materials you upload, share, or generate while using VerifyPage.
- Usage data. Log files, IP addresses, browser and device characteristics, pages visited, features used, timestamps, and referring URLs.
- Communications. Messages you send us via email, chat, support tickets, or the contact form.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our services
- Authenticate users and protect against fraud
- Process transactions and send related communications
- Send service announcements, security advisories, and policy updates
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Improve and develop new features
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
- Send marketing communications (only with consent, where required by law)
3. Customer content
Customer content (the documents and files you upload) is treated as confidential. VerifyPage does not access, use, or disclose customer content except (a) as necessary to provide the service, (b) as instructed by you, (c) to comply with a binding legal request after exhausting reasonable challenges, or (d) to enforce our Terms of Service in cases of suspected abuse.
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Sub-processors who perform services on our behalf (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, customer support tools). A current list is available in our Trust Center.
- Other users in your workspace, as you direct (e.g., colleagues, clients you invite to access shared documents).
- Legal authorities, where required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, after we have made reasonable efforts to notify you (unless legally prohibited).
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you and any choices you may have before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. International data transfers
VerifyPage is headquartered in the United States and operates infrastructure in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Australia. We rely on the following mechanisms for cross-border data transfers:
- EU-US Data Privacy Framework for transfers from the EU/EEA to the United States
- UK Extension to the DPF for transfers from the UK
- Standard Contractual Clauses (2021) with Transfer Impact Assessments where adequacy is not available
- Customer-selectable data residency on our Enterprise plan
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, customer content is permanently deleted within 30 days from production systems and within 90 days from backups. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for analytics. Billing records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Restrict or object to processing
- Receive a portable copy of your information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@verifypg.com. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner if required by law.
8. California privacy rights
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell), and the right to non-discrimination. 9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use first-party cookies for authentication, session management, and load balancing. We use a limited set of analytics cookies to understand product usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10. Children's privacy
VerifyPage is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, and access. For details, see our Trust Center. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the service and via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
